Cotswold Manor

Our Cotswold Manor House is a different theme on a familiar plan. It is an enlarged version of our La Maison sur Loire that has been changed to an English style. It evokes the style of a formal rural English home that would belong to the Lord of the Manor. With its very formal exterior and larger scale it could be seen presiding over the cottages scattered on the hills below. Combination brick and stone give this house the appeal that makes English homes so appealing. Tall chimneys, steeply pitched roofs, and leaded glass windows reflect the ageless English tradition of residential design.
The 4,099-square-foot floor plan reflects the formality of the exterior with a dramatic central hall and staircase. The formal living room with fireplace is opposite the dining room across the hall providing an atmosphere and circulation that facilitates entertaining. The family room is a generous 12-4x17-8 and it features a second fireplace and vaulted ceiling. With its garden view to the back, covered porch and patio it is an extension of the kitchen so the family may enjoy a casual space that is functional and open. Opening to the family room, the kitchen is 12-4x17-8 with ample counter space and more room for a free standing breakfast table between. A food pantry and butlers pantry between the dining room and kitchen provide much desired storage and food prep space. The ground floor master bedroom with fireplace is 17x21 with a high beamed ceiling and has dedicated access to the covered porch and is easily accessible from all living areas. Three bedrooms, each with their private bath, provide adequate space for family and guests are located upstairs with a generous hall overlooking the living area below.
