Mountain Laurel IV

Our Mountain Laurel IV has all the benefits of the Mountain Laurel III while the architectural style is distinctly different, reflecting some of the characteristics of typical mountain homes of the Piedmont of the Appalachians. Its high, hipped roof opens more space above for vaulted ceilings and reflects detailing typical of mountain cottages. Native materials, rough textures, quaint detailing and earthy colors add to the rustic appeal of this house. At 2,860 Square feet, this house is amazingly functional and full of pleasant surprises.
This plan, too, is designed specifically for a sloping site that allows for a lower level walk-out in lieu of a second floor. As many mountain and lake front properties offer this potential, a lower level takes full advantage of resultant space below the house and frees up space above the first floor for high, vaulted ceilings, bright clerestories and dormer windows that allow the sun to stream in. The great room and master bedroom open directly onto the covered, autumn porch its exterior fireplace making it the ideal spot for staying warm on chilly autumn days. A large deck off the dining room provides extra entertaining and dining area outside. Off the foyer, a cozy study or home office sports a high, beamed ceiling and clerestory. Below, a den with third fireplace and two additional bedrooms with private baths open to the stoned terrace for easy access to the lake or other mountain activities.
